Shica provides AI receptionist services to businesses. We take a simple position on privacy: collect as little as possible, be transparent about all of it, and never sell any of it. This policy explains what we collect through this website and through the Shica service, and how it is handled.
What this website collects
Almost nothing. This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party scripts, and it does not store any data you type into it.
- Forms. The contact, signup, and newsletter forms on this site do not transmit data to a server. Submitting a form opens a pre-filled email in your own mail client, addressed to hello@shica.org. Nothing is sent until you choose to send that email yourself, and nothing you type is retained by this website.
- Fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's font servers. Google may log standard request data such as your IP address. No other third-party resources are loaded.
- Hosting logs. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. These are not used for profiling or advertising.
What we collect when you email us
If you email hello@shica.org — including via the forms on this site — we receive whatever you choose to include, typically your name, email address, business name, phone number, and message. We use it solely to respond to you, prepare a quote, or activate your service. We retain correspondence only as long as needed for those purposes and for our legal record-keeping obligations.
What the Shica service collects
Once you become a customer, the service necessarily handles call data on your behalf:
- Call recordings and transcripts of calls answered by your AI receptionist, used to deliver summaries, bookings, and lead details to you.
- Caller-provided information such as names, contact details, and appointment preferences, collected only as required by the scripts you approve.
- Account and billing details needed to operate and invoice your subscription.
This data belongs to your business. We process it only to provide the service under our agreement with you, and your obligations to your own callers (such as call-recording disclosure requirements in your region) are supported by configurable announcements.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent personal information — yours or your callers'.
- We never use your call data to advertise to you or to anyone else.
- We never share data with third parties except the service providers strictly necessary to operate Shica (such as telephony and hosting infrastructure), bound by confidentiality, or where the law requires it.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS and contains no payment or data-storage functionality. The customer dashboard keeps your session in memory only — no credentials, cookies, or personal data are stored in your browser, and signing out (or closing the tab) ends the session completely. Within the Shica service, call data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to personnel who need it to support your account, and we apply the principle of least privilege throughout. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly as required by applicable law.
Retention and deletion
Service data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus any period required by law, after which it is deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@shica.org; we will action verified requests within 30 days unless a legal obligation requires otherwise.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the Australian Privacy Act and the GDPR — you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to complain to your local privacy regulator. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@shica.org.
Children
Shica is a business service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this website.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes affecting existing customers will be communicated by email.
